In architecture nowadays we use our Vray or 3D studio max engines to make our designs look shiny, slick and utopian. I don’t think that’s how we intend on them to look, that’s just how the program interprets them.
I came across these acrylic on canvas works by artist Willem van Veldhuizen recently. They are paintings of some famous 20th century modernist buildings. What I love about them is that they capture a reality, something we miss in our computer rendered space.
