Stunning photography by Thomas Hawk of the 2012 Holi-inspired festival in Utah.
These images are of the Russian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2012. The pavilion is adorned in flickering lights and patterns of QR codes. Designed by Sergei Tchoban , the experience of the exhibit is that one is handed a tablet to scan the codes – which showcases new ideas for a Russian i-city – dedicated to living in science and technology.
I really like the reference, whether it be intentional or not, the spatial and aesthetic quality of this pavilion seems to resonate with the prevalence of opulent architecture and baroque patterns in Russia.
